Buying new furniture is an investment that you will want to stay looking good for years to come. Little accidents such as spills, rips and scratches can permanently spoil your furniture. Even the protective treatment applied to upholstery fabrics can only give a measure of protection from accidents. Taking out the new improved 5 year Guardsman Protection Plan on your new furniture means you can sit back and relax, safe in the knowledge that your furniture is protected against those little mishaps spoiling your furniture.
How the plan works
The Guardsman Protection Plan can offer you peace of mind for your new cabinet, fabrics or leather furniture and is available from your Laura Ashley store, by phone and online.
- Ask or look out for the Guardsman 5 year Protection Plan when purchasing your new furniture. Plans available are:
- Fabricgard: for fabric upholstered furniture
- Leathergard: for leather upholstered furniture
- Furnituregard: for cabinet and wooden furniture
- The 5-year Guardsman Protection Plan works as soon as your new furniture is delivered to your home. Your new upholstery furniture will arrive having been treated with the anti-stain protector.
- If damage occurs during the 5-year period simply call the Guardsman claims number for advice on how to deal with the situation.
- If necessary, a furniture care professional will be sent to your home to rectify the problem, and if the problem cannot be rectified then Guardsman will replace the affected area.
The new improved Guardsman Protection Plan now covers you for:

Stains, including:
- Dye transfer - improved coverage
- Food - including turmeric
- Glue - including superglue
- Paint, bleach, acids and corrosives
- Beverages - including red wine
- Wax and wax polish and more
Accidental Damage, including:
- All incidents of minor pet scratching - improved coverage of rips, tears or burns
- Dents
- Water marks and heat rings and more
Structural Defects, including:
- Recliner mechanisms - improved coverage
- Frame damage, joint breakage
- Lifting or peeling of veneer
- Rail blocks and bolts on arms and more
Upholstery Pricing Structure
Fabricgard costs £40 per seating unit, and Leathergard £60 per seating unit. The following indicates how this relates to your Laura Ashley purchase:
1 UNIT: armchairs, dining chairs, footstools, benches and headboards
2 UNITS: small two-seater sofas, two-seater sofas, chaise lounge
3 UNITS: large two-seater sofas, three-seater sofas
4 UNITS: grande sofas
Fabricgard Dry is available on fabrics that are not treated with a stain resistant treatment. Fabricgard Dry is also £40 per seating unit.
To give you added value on your initial order, Fabricgard is FREE for additional loose covers and arm caps ordered and paid for at the same time. Loose covers ordered separately will be charged in accordance with the table above. Armcaps ordered separately, will be treated with Fabricgard protector free of charge although the protection plan cover is not available.
