Curtains - pencil pleat
Our most popular pleated heading style

Max. track or pole width to order = 515cms per pair, max length = 366cms.

  • HEADING – Pencil pleated curtains have a 7.5cm wide heading tape with three rows of woven pockets that allows for adjustment in height when hung. The heading tape is set at the top of the curtain. The heading tape has three draw cords running the length of the tape. The cords are pulled up to create the pencil pleat effect. The cords should be knotted at both ends before gathering the tape. A more softly gathered look will be achieved if the cords are pulled less. Once the curtain has been drawn up to the required width, the cords should be knotted again close to the edge of the curtain to keep the pleats in place. The ends of the heading tape have been left open to enable the cords to be neatly hidden away. The cords should never be cut, as it is necessary to untie them and flatten out the gathers for cleaning.
  • HOOKS – Curtain hooks are not supplied. Curtain hooks are inserted into the pockets on the heading tape to attach the curtain to the track or pole. To hang pencil pleat curtains from a pole, hooks are normally inserted into the top row of pockets. To hang from a track, hooks are usually inserted into the middle row of pockets.
