Blinds - general information

HANGING

  • Full instructions on how to hang your blind are on the leaflet included with your product.
  • Please ensure that fabric blinds do not hang too close to windows or radiators, where both excessive moisture from condensation or excessive heat and dryness can have quite severe effects in terms of dimensional variation and soiling. Condensation can result in the discolouration of the blind, which could eventually lead to fabric deterioration.

CARE

  • Care instructions are specific to the blind style ordered and will be detailed on the relevant information page for the blind.

FABRIC DESIGN

  • Laura Ashley Made to Measure Fabric Blinds are always cut on the same design at the top. If you order two or more blinds of identical size, in the same fabric, the position of the design will be identical in both/all. Should you order two or more blinds of a different length in the same fabric, the design will be the same at the top but will differ at the bottom.
  • Where a product has more than one width of fabric, on the seams where they join, the fabric design will be matched.
  • However, if you order a set of blinds to be hung next to each other, the design cannot match at the adjacent edges, when the blinds are fully lowered. This is because part of the design is lost in the blind facings, and as blinds are made with the centre of the fabric design in the centre of the blind, different widths of blinds will have different parts of the design at the edges.

DESIGN ALIGNMENT

  • Natural fabrics do not always have perfect alignment of the design straight across the width, but our manufacturing techniques guarantee that Laura Ashley fabrics do not go off line by more than 3%. (I.e. 4cms on a 140cm wide fabric.)

MOVEMENT OF FABRIC IN SITU

  • Due to variations in atmospheric conditions such as humidity and temperature, there may be a possibility of shrinkage or relaxation of fabric blinds whilst in situ at the window. It is important that the temperature and humidity of the surrounding environment should be controlled in order to prevent the movement.
  • As such conditions are beyond the control of Laura Ashley, we are unable to accept any responsibility for the movement of fabric blinds when hung.
